Shared from WordPress: “How Three Survivors of Suicide Spent Their Last Days On Earth”

What sad stories with such a beautiful message: “I’ve done things that, back then, I never would have thought were possible. I would have missed out on the best part of my life.”

Sound Grounds Haiku by Hannah Frankl

“Donovan told me
I had to perform tonight
So here’s a haiku:

We are together
The air dances with the breath
Of many voices.”

Thank you Hannah for trying her first open mic before going to New Zealand.

Logo Reveal and Second Domain Name!

Hi everyone!

Since I have some poetry readings coming up and my collection is close to being finished (though not quite as close to being published yet…)  I would like to formally reveal the logo/cover image for the book.

❤ Heartstump Logo/Cover ❤

The logo was designed by the extremely talented and incredibly kind Pedro Cuevas.  Pedro has a variety of skills in the arts and specializes in graphic design.  If you are interested in employing him to do some incredible work for you, just visit his website here.

Feel free to share this image as long as it maintains the copyright at the bottom.  You can even put it on merchandise at  I just ordered an embroidered backpack.  I will take a picture when it arrives. Again just make sure that it maintains the copyright and if you could add my website domain in too, that would be cool. 😉

And speaking of domains, I just purchased *pops bottle of champagne for not quite warranted over-celebration* and so now if you type that in it will redirect you to here.  I am also considering purchasing since that is what the Southeast Examiner shared with Portland as being my website, haha.

At any rate.  I am excited to get into the finishing stages of my collection and share some of it with you at my upcoming readings!  More to come….

What It Is

Hush now, about that,
laying in bed, listening
to someone sifting through
your recycling bin, rolling
over once, awoken by
a nightmare, pillow pulled
over your head. Hush. Snooze…

Hush now, while you walk
The ten blocks of sidewalk
To catch your ride
As the moon sets and
The sun smirks and peers
Over the horizon telling
you to slow down, even more.

Just hush, through all
the flashbacks of his hands
His eyes, his lips, face, taste, smell,
soul, touch, hush. Hush, hush.
And keep walking. Smell
the flowers, feel the breeze
Taste the coffee. You love it,

in the early morning, that feeling of something coming in the new day.
And you don’t know what it is.

(This is one of those ones that I wrote all in one go start to finish and didn’t change a thing about it afterward.  That always feels pretty good.)
